1. Around the greens, think of every club in your bag as a lofted putter.
2. If dithering between two clubs, take the longer one (how many times do you OVER-hit the green?).
3. When putting, "If you don't 'it it 'ard enough, it ain't never gonna go in."
4. When suffering lack of confidence, "Hit it hard. Go find it. Hit it hard again."
5. On sloping greens, err on the side of leaving yourself an uphill putt.
6. A couple of vigorous practice swings at the first tee is not a warm-up!
7. Don't grip the club too hard. Breathing OUT as you start your backswing and all the way through the stroke automatically relaxes your hands.
8. Don't attempt to use a sand wedge on hard sand or hard ground - it will tend to bounce off the ground and blade the ball. Use a pitching wedge which has a sharper leading edge.
